Palm Springs, CA – Feb 16-19, 2007

For President’s Day long weekend we visited Palm Springs, California.

We left very early on Friday morning, at 7:20am and arrived at our hotel just after 6pm. We would have been 2 hours earlier had we not gotten stuck in a huge traffic jam on the I-10 between LA and Palm Springs. Palm Springs is about 110 miles east of LA.

We absolutely loved our hotel, the Orbit In. Very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff (www.orbitin.com).

On Saturday we went for a morning hike in the San Jacinto Mountains just behind the hotel. After lunch we visited the Modernism Week exhibition at the Convention Center. (www.modernismweek.com) and wandered around downtown.

On Sunday morning we did a gorgeous loop-hike in the Indian Canyons’ Palm Canyon. After a lovely lunch at Pomme Frite (www.pomme-frite.com) we drove around Palm Springs and slowly made our way to the Aerial Tramway (www.pstramway.com).

We drove back to San Francisco on Monday and managed to avoid heavy traffic.

Enjoy some photos of our weekend.
