Our next trip/adventure is rapidly approaching and now that Stephen and his company have come to an agreement about his time off (it will be ‘leave without pay’), we can post a first info update.
Stephen will board a flight on March 29th (once he’s managed to book a new flight after Singapore Airlines canceled on him) to arrive in Kathmandu on March 31st where he will join his Everest Expedition. For yes, if you hadn’t heard yet: Stephen will attempt to climb to the roof of the world!
He will climb again with Alpine Ascents.
You will be able to follow the expedtion on their site once it has started; we will post an update with the link once it is active.
I will fly to Kathmandu and on to Pokhara on April 15th (once I’ve managed to book a new flight after Singapore Airlines canceled on me as well*).
I will do The Annapurna Circuit Trek from April 19th till May 6th. Then, after 2 rest days I will fly to Lukla to start my 7-8 day trek to Everest Basecamp. I’m hoping to be in EBC when Stephen and his team are going for the final push to the summit and when they walk back into Basecamp.
Caroline will do both treks again with 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking.
We both trying to book return flights on May 30th – but that could be ‘give or take a week or so’!

* Update Feb 11: Meanwhile my flights are just about re-booked and I will now leave on April 12 and stopover in Tokyo for 3-days!
Great! Wish I could join you both … But that will be for another time. First we'll take care of our new baby!
