Day 7: Blackfold to Inverness

Thursday, July 14th, 2016 — 12km / 7.5miles

A leisurely start at 10am for a leisurely day’s walking. The morning’s pick-up to drop me back at Blackfold was around 9:30am, and I was back on the trail at 10:10am. I’d arranged an early arrival with Gary from Fairfield Lodge, which was no problem at all. Nothing much spectacular to mention from this short stretch. Mostly level terrain before the descent towards the suburbs of Inverness. I arrived at my B&B around 1pm, freshened up and went for a stroll into Inverness town center. I found a latte on a terrace in the sun, walked around a while and meandered back to my lodge.

Friday, July 15th, 2016 — Inverness – Gent

I had arranged transport to the airport the driver who’d dropped me off that morning and that went off without a hitch. Went to the airport, flew to LHR, had lunch at Wagamama’s in T5 and flew onto BRU. Got on a train to Gent and arrived at Hilde and Yaron’s in the evening.

All in all a very nice walking experience.
